St. Vincenz - Die ev.-luth. gotische Pfarrkirche St. Vincenz wurde um 1250 errichtet. Aus dieser Zeit stammt das mächtige Westwerk mit dem Turm, von dem aus das Schloss 1542 während der Belagerung durch die Protestanten unter Graf Mansfeld beschossen wurde.

Das Langhaus im Stil einer dreischiffigen Hallenkirche wurde zwischen 1429 und 1460 errichtet und musste nach dem großen Stadtbrand 1644 völlig erneuert werden.

Das Langhaus wird geprägt durch die 1644 eingebauten Emporen mit 34 Apostel- und Prophetenbildnissen, die barocke Kanzel von 1652 und die 1658 vollendete und 1994 restaurierte, mit Knorpelwerkmalereien geschmückte Jonas-Weigel-Orgel.

Im Chor befindet sich der barocke Altar. Die Großbuchstaben über der Mitteltafel verschlüsseln den Namen der Stifterin "V.on G.ottes G.naden A.nna S.ophia, G.eboren A.us C.hurfürstlichem S.tamm B.randenburg. H.erzogin Z.u B.raunschweig U.nd L.üneburg, W.itwe".

Links im Chor erhebt sich die Fürstenprieche mit Bildnis der Herzogin.

In St. Vincenz finden regelmäßig im Herbst die Schöninger Orgelwochen statt.

St. Vincenz – The Gothic parish church of St. Vincenz was built around 1250. The imposing west structure with the tower has remained intact since that time, and it was from here that the castle was fired upon during the Protestant siege in 1542 under Count Mansfeld.

The nave, which is designed as a three-aisled hall church, was constructed between 1429 and 1460, but had to be completely rebuilt following the major city fire of 1644.

The nave is characterised by galleries installed in 1644 featuring 34 depictions of apostles and prophets, a Baroque pulpit from 1652 and a Jonas Weigel organ adorned with ornamental paintings. The organ was completed in 1658 and restored in 1994.

The choir houses the Baroque altar and the capital letters above the central panel encrypt the name of the donor: 'V. von Gottes Gnaden Anna Sophia, Geboren Aus Churfürstlichem Stamm Brandenburg. Herzogin zu Braunschweig und Lüneburg, Witwe" (By the grace of God, Anna Sophia, born of the electoral branch of the House of Brandenburg, Duchess of Brunswick and Lüneburg, Widow).

To the left of the choir is the princely pew, which features a portrait of the duchess.

St. Vincenz regularly hosts the Schöningen Organ Weeks in autumn.
